Van der Pol Waffle Systems and Den Boer Baking Systems recently joined the Markel Bakery Group. A logical step which perfectly fits in with the Markel expansion strategy.

This acquisition gives the Tromp Group, which already existed as a marketing organisation, a huge boost in product range, development and production. The Tromp Group comprises:

The three companies will continue to operate within the unique product range and finance and sales will be centralised. With an overall project management the Tromp Group will take care of complex Turn Key projects. They all will share their knowledge, make top quality products, so as to get the most out of the cooperation. The knowledge enrichment and cooperation will convince clients of the high added value of the combination. Because, apart from the know-how available in each of the companies, clients can now rely on a worldwide network of experts from the Markel Bakery Group. Think for instance of information from AMF (pan bread and bun) and Reading (baked snacks) as well as the available worldwide network of agents. There are sales offices in the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore and China. In China there is also a production plant.

Dutch pride extending far over the borders. The daily management of the Tromp Group is in the hands of Robert van Heukelum as president. His brother, Richard van Heukelum is responsible for the Marketing and Sales Department of the Group.

The operating companies each have their own manager, responsible for the daily management.

Tromp Bakery Equipment officially opens the Test- and Innovation Center

November 2013 Tromp Bakery Equipment moved to a much larger facility at the same industrial estate in Gorinchem, The Netherlands. One of the novelties is the completely new Test- and Innovation Center designed specifically to further develop products of business associates on the most modern production equipment within the baking industry. This center fits into the Tromp’s philosophy to work together with its clients even more and even better at an early stage in their innovative work.

The new Test- and Innovation Center is among other things equipped with a complete multifunctional Tromp production line. Apart from that there is a modern dough making section where dough is produced according to client specification. By means of refrigeration, freezing and proofing equipment the dough is conditioned and baked in one of the available test ovens.

The completely new Test- and Innovation Center offers business associates of Tromp to further develop products together with our professionals. Testing, adjusting, consulting and optimizing. Working together with specialists in the bread and pastry production who only think of and contribute to innovation and further product development.

All this in a realistic production area of nearly 1.000 m².
